Overview (Scope of Role)

The HR Business Partner will strive to meet the business needs as a trusted, strategic partner; acting as an employee champion and change agent. As we grow and align globally, we are creating a Shared Services model that will allow the HR Business Partner the time and bandwidth to work on the most value-added business goals while partnering with experts in other HR functions like Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and HRIS. This will be a hybrid role with 3 days per week at our Florence, KY site and at least 1-2 days at our Louisville, KY site per month to be expected. In the first 3-6 months, there might be a few additional trips to the Louisville site required as you integrate with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Florence & Louisville manufacturing operations site with strong HR partnering skills.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (coaching, counseling, conflict management, career development, promotions, performance improvement, and disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to create a culture aligned to Trinseo Values that enhances morale, and increases productivity, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Serve as a coach and consultant to others within the organization.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to the business.
  • Manage and resolve labor/employee relations issues for the site. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Use HR metrics to measure the effect of initiatives and to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate on various HR/Business strategic teams. Drive impactful HR initiatives as well as day to day service delivery.
  • Support management in executing change within their sites/functions by using a consistent change management approach, building enthusiasm for and commitment to change across a range of stakeholders
  • Work safely and actively participate in safety programs at the site.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a professional HR role (e.g., HR Generalist or HR Business Partner), preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Labor relations experience is strongly preferred
  • Union, Collective Bargaining Agreement experience is strongly preferred
  • Excellent relationship-building skills; ability to influence leadership at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Evidence of exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Based Programs
  • Workday HRIS and iCIMS ATS experience is a plus
